The band was created in 2019 after ten years of collaboration and jamming amongst the tirade. Nahid and Josh met the summer of 2005 while he was putting up flyers (at a bus stop in Amherst, MA) for a party he would be djing. “Sweat box” written in wavy letters all yellow and black caught Nahid’s eye hella quick. He handed her a flyer and they’ve been friends ever since. Sigmund and Josh’s worlds collided in 2006 while they both lived in Philadelphia, PA. There mutual love of records explored through multiple visits to Sound of Market record shop and beat making took their musical friendship to another level.

In 2015, Sigmund’s cult classic “All My Mistakes Recorded” was release on Paxico Records, with assistance from Josh working as the Art Director. Later in that same year, Nahid and Josh had created the tracks “SummerNights” and “Cold” and the tirade was being subconsciously brought together.

Fast forward to 2018 when all three were finally in the same place at the same time; Brooklyn, NYC, the foundation for creating music was established. Nahid’s melodies float over Josh’s moody beats and Sigmund’s notes intertwine throughout, creating a haunting, yet comforting room.



About Nahid:
Nahid Abunama-Elgadi is a Sudanese-American performance artist based in SF and NYC. She studied Theater, Community Arts & Political Science at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA before teaching Pre-K for five years while performing original works in San Francisco. In 2015, Nahid joined the band Alsarah & The Nubatones and began touring nationally and internationally as a backing vocalist and playing addition percussion and keyboard.

When Nahid is not touring with the band she continues to create her original work in music (w/ TRIUNE) poetry, theater and dance while teaching part-time. Nahid believes in change being the only constant, continual life learning, the preservation of the planet and the fight for human rights.



About Sigmund:
Sigmund Washington is a musician/producer/animator born and raised in Dallas, TX. His love for music started at a young age playing the saxophone and studying music. He moved to Philly to attend art school and got deeply embedded in the music scene. So much so that after he graduated he stayed in Philly performing with not only his own group but with local singer-songwriters, dance troupes, cover bands and any musical opportunity that took him outside his comfort zone.

After several years of doing shows in Philly, Sigmund felt his life and music needed to change. The effects of that caused him to start recording what would become his first solo album, All My Mistakes Recorded, and a sojourn that took him from Philly to Montreal to Dallas and back. Feeling a bit disillusioned, yet optimistic he reimagined himself as a producer and fortunately met and teamed up with Josh. In that time he's released 2 solo albums and several collaboration projects through Paxico Records, on his own and with his peers.



About Josh:
Josh Hey is a musician/producer/dj who draws upon samples as well as original instrumentation to compose music/projects/mixes. Trained in the early 2000’s, Hey brings that energy to the current musical landscape and aims to maintain the human feel in the digital realm.

His music has been released by Paxico Records, Acorn Tapes, NTS Radio and he has collaborated with Poptartpete, Iunnowho, Swarvy, Suzi Analogue and more. Hey has performed throughout the United States, sharing bills with acts like Juicy J, Count Bass D, Ohbliv, Mndsgn, Photay and held DJ residencies at C’mon Everybody (BK), Paperbox (Bk), HyLo Boutiques (PHL), and James Oliver Gallery (PHL).
